Trott won her second gold medal in Rio Games in the omnium, making her the first female British Olympian to win four golds.
Kenny equalled Sir Chris Hoy's British record of six Olympic titles, after winning his third gold medal of Rio 2016 in a nerve-shredding keirin final.
The final had to be re-started twice. Kenny had a nervous wait to see if he would be disqualified when he and Malaysia's Azizulhasni Awang sprinted too early along the backstretch. There was a similar incident in the second attempt, the German rider erring this time.
But - third time lucky - the third race went to plan and Kenny sprinted his way into the history books, powering to victory ahead Dutch rider Matthijs Buchli, who took silver. and Awang bronze.
Trott subsequently tweeted: "Arghhhh!!!!!! I love him to bits @JasonKenny107 !! Our kids have to get some of these genes right?!"
Trott, just 24, had earlier won the omnium event with ease, having been utterly dominant throughout the competition.
